Welcome Eleanora Rose
We are so excited to announce the arrival of our little girl, Eleanora Rose Blair. She made her grand debut on Friday, August 8th, 2014. She weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and measured 20 1/2 inches long. We are so thankful for a healthy and beautiful baby girl. She was born with a full head of hair, which made us happy! She is the most gorgeous thing we've ever seen and we're completely smitten. We are enjoying these first few days as a family of three! Thank you all for your love and prayers. If you want to see more of this sweet face, you can visit our family blog here.
Featured on 100 Layer Cakelet
I'm so incredibly honored to have my own maternity session featured on 100 Layer Cakelet today! About two weeks ago I found myself on the other side of the lens for a mini maternity session at an old Plantation on the Georgia coast. My sweet sister (and assistant) Michelle was kind enough to make this session happen so beautifully. The ridiculously heat aside, the South can be a dream. After stumbling on this location a few years ago, I knew it was the perfect backdrop to commemorate this special season of life. Maybe the next time I visit I'll have my toddling little girl with me! These make me so excited to meet my Eleanora Rose!
Celebrating 4 Years
Four year have come and gone so quickly. And they've been the best four years of my life. Our love has grown so much. All the challenges and changes we've gone through have, by God's grace, only made us stronger. Marriage is truly an amazing gift. It's so easy to take my wonderful husband for granted, but he has been the greatest blessing of my life apart from Christ. That is in part because he shows me Christ. He loves, serves and leads in a way that points me to Him. Of course, he's not perfect. He does things that annoy me and I do things that annoy him. Goodness, I am definitely not anywhere close to perfect either. We're both desperately flawed. But that's the part of marriage I love so much. Two imperfect people come together in an imperfect marriage and God makes it into something beautiful. He is the Perfecter. He takes the broken and makes a masterpiece. Over the past four years, I think we've seen a tiny glimpse of that. His work in us is really just beginning. I can't wait to see what He paints through the intertwining of our lives, especially now that our two will become three.
I love you so much Jonathan! I'm so glad you chose to be committed to me four years ago. I have never once regretted choosing you. I am a lucky girl. You've exceeded everything I thought I wanted. Happy anniversary!
House Tour | My Office Space
It's been a little over a month since we moved into our new house and I'm pretty sure we fall more in love with it everyday. We feel so blessed to have found such a wonderful place for our little family. Happily, one of my favorite rooms is my home office! My workspace in our last home was a far cry from appealing. Just picture old, stained carpet and yucky wood paneling. There wasn't much I could do about it though, so I worked with it. I'm so thrilled that my new space is worlds better than what I've been used to! It does have wood ceiling beams, but they're painted white and I love them. The ceiling adds so much character to the room. What I adore most is all the light that floods this room all hours of the day. Of course, all things bright and white make me happy! I also have a wonderful view of our lush backyard and deck. Usually, I'm quite entertained by the squirrels and birds playing in the trees outside the windows. We feel so incredibly blessed to call this place home! Now, without further ado here are a few images of my office. I'll be sharing more of the rest of the house soon too!
When He bestows and withholds...
"I trust in You, O LORD; I say, 'You are my God. My times are in Your hand." Oh, how abundant is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You, and worked for those who take refuge in You, in the sight of the children of mankind! Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the LORD!" (Psalm 31:14, 15, 19, 24)
Right now I am sitting in my office space in our new house. I gaze at through our big windows and see our big, blooming Camellia bushes, the sun shining on our deck and little Robins flitting from one tree to another. My heart is overcome with thankfulness for this beautiful home. We don't deserve this; it is above and beyond all we hoped for or dreamed. It is grace poured out into our lap. Of course, it's not perfect. I could make a fairly long list of all that others might change, but it's just right for us. We think it is incredibly beautiful, and a perfect place for our little family to grow. The day we got the keys we came in to look at our then empty home. Sitting on the edge of the bathtub we thanked God for this lavish blessing and gave it back to Him. We know it's not really ours, even though that's what the deed says.
